Welcome to the
Kym Sellers Foundation!

The Founder, Kym Sellers

The Kym Sellers Foundation (The KSF) was founded by Kym Sellers, formerly of Cleveland’s Radio One, WZAK, 93.1 in April, 2000 as the direct result of Kym being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. Kym’s desire was to share her personal experiences about this mysterious disease, thus she created an organization with a purpose dedicated solely to individuals in the Greater Cleveland and Akron areas, including their families and friends who are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Participation is open to all individuals who are affected by MS, regardless of race, religion, national origin, or socio-economic status.

The Disease

What is

Multiple Sclerosis?

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is thought to be an immune-meditated disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves. Surrounding and protecting the nerve fibers of the CNS is a fatty tissue called myelin, which helps nerve fibers conduct electrical impulses. In MS, myelin is lost in multiple areas leaving scar tissue called sclerosis.

Get Involved

The Kym Sellers Foundation (The KSF) is privileged to have the support of a tremendous volunteer team who work alongside staff, with clients, in the community and assisting with fundraising programs and events. Without the enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers, we would be unable to provide the level of support we are able to people with MS, their families and carers
